Pregnant mothers can boost their baby’s IQ

May 31st, 2009 -- Posted in Health | 1 Comment »

A research under the American Psychologists suggests that the mothers who are exercising regularly during their pregnancy actually help in boosting the IQ of their child.

The author, Richard Nisbett, for the book “Intelligence and How to Get It” wanted to test the saying that 80% of the intelligence is genetic. He wanted to make an argument that the role of mothers is far more important than the role of the fathers in their influence to the intelligence of their child.

Findings show that the children of mothers who exercise 30 minutes a day get much better scores in their IQ tests. They are 8 points higher compared to children whose mothers did not exercise during pregnancy. This is because we used to encourage mothers not to do any sort of exercise during the 2nd and 3rd trimester of their pregnancy. Research has now disproved this and suggests that exercise with light weights and a bit of stretching and some running is actually more beneficial for the baby.

Dr. Death and euthanasia

May 23rd, 2009 -- Posted in Health | No Comments »

Last May 3, 2009, Dr. Philip Nitschke aka Dr. Death had arrived in the UK to promote euthanasia by launching a test kit that would test the suicide drug’s effectiveness. When he arrived at the airport, he was detained for 9 hours before given a 7-day access to the country because UK does not allow suicide or any type of influence with regards to the subject.

Dr. Death runs the Exit International which gives out info about how a person can commit suicide and end his/her painful ordeal by living. He wants to change the views of the public regarding euthanasia or suicide because people who are in misery and want to have a choice deserve that choice. He also said during an interview that people always say that things would get better but in fact sometimes it just turns even worse. If a person wants to end the life which he/she is not happy with then they should be given the option to do it peacefully and put themselves out of their misery.

May 18th, 2009 -- Posted in Health | No Comments »

There is a study that shows women ages 46 to 55 get 3% less chance than men their age and 15% less by the age of 56 to 65, 29% by the age of 66 to 75 and an amazing 59% less chance for older women of age over 75! Is this gender disparity?

Has it something to do with the less chance for older women to get successful kidney transplants? No! As a matter of fact, women have higher chances of having successful kidney transplants compared to older men so why such disparity? The 59% less chance for older women ages 75 and up says it all. Why do men have higher chances than women have for kidney transplants? It should be equal.
