How to spot domestic violence

Doctors at the Emergency Room have seen practically all types of injuries but there’s a certain type of injuries that should alert them that they are dealing with a woman that is a victim of domestic violence.

Women sometimes go in the ER and say they just fell and broke their jaw or cheekbones but in reality, their husbands or live in partner was already domestically violating them. Of course, it’s not always the case but doctors are already alerted that it’s a probable cause of the problem and they should stay tuned to the patient just to make sure she didn’t just fell and hurt herself but in fact, she really needs help to run away from her torture.

Women who are victims of domestic violence won’t confess even to their friends that they are being beaten because of many reasons.

One of that is because they are afraid that once their husband or partner finds out, they’d be beaten even more and another reason is simply because they love their partner so much that they can’t make him suffer for beating her up. It may be that she is still hoping that he will still change and would realize that beating his partner is not right. Women can be romanticizing their situations and not seeing the actual problem in their relationship that’s why outside help is necessary to bring them back to their senses and for them to gain back their self worth.

It is good that some countries have very clear policies and laws to stop domestic violence while in other countries domestic violence is still seen as something normal… every woman (sometimes even a man) is abused every now and then in some places.
