The danger of antibiotics

Antibiotics are one of the best inventions of the 20th century. Since their inception during the 40s, antibiotics have helped lives and resolved inconvenience fast. More than 60 years after the first use of antibiotics, people are still clinging to this type of drug to help them address different medical conditions.

But too much of something good is very bad…especially for your health. Antibiotics may be a great discovery but their  use should be highly regulated. Instead of helping, the antibiotics could be the cause of different medical conditions that might not be only dangerous to health but fatal.

The reason for this danger is based on the fact that antibiotics condition the germs to become stronger. Germs and bacteria could be easily addressed by antibiotics but bacteria adapts to the antibiotic. The result is a stronger strain of bacteria that will require stronger antibiotics. There could come a time wherein the bacteria would be so evolved that the antibiotic that could address the certain disease is expensive or worse, not yet discovered.

That is why it is important to observe preventive measures even for simple diseases. If you are sick, try to cure the mild disease the traditional way – get some rest, eat healthy and drink lots of water. By using the traditional way, you are conditioning your antibodies to naturally combat the bacteria and viruses.

If you do find yourself sick and think you need antibiotics, consult your doctor first. Better to seek professional opinion so that you would have the right antibiotics to fight certain diseases immediately.
