Health Care Service Development

The development of health has created three main aspects. State-owned hospitals, national networks of practitioners as well as community health services, the three main sections of health service with all of them being managed differently. Health care systems to this day still face difficult battles in the future.

Health service planning has been a growing theme since the turn of the 21st century. It can be classified as many different things to people, but many describe it as planning health care that is needed in a particular located area. Within the health care system, certain aspects aren’t taken into consideration during the planning process. These include emotional dimensions, complex relationships, financial characteristics and diversity of functions.

Factors that are included when seeking health care depend on someone’s demand for care and the impact that it will have on the amount of health care activity taking place.

Health service planning processes are formed for many different reasons judging by the interest of particular people or a particular person. For example, the increasing number of elderly people now has resulted in a rise of disability and illnesses, with the main illnesses being dementia and cardiovascular disease. Evidence-base programmes are also very important in order to add high standards to specific health services.

When planning approaches, there can be a range of strategies used from problem-solving to long term v short term plans. Different approaches can also be aimed at specific health services or specific locations. The plans carried out by the health services haven’t always been a success though. Difficult situations have been forced upon services in which they have to consider someone’s health needs and what resources they actually have available to them. Planning processes also often fail to work out and don’t respond to the needs of populations that need it. Failures to deliver what is needed need to be examined and the resources that are needed must be examined accurately.

The Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act in 2007 provided authorities with a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment in order to discuss the health care of the community.

Cycle, Development, Service, situational analysis circle

The Planning Spiral shows the planning process in the field of health care. The first aspect is the situational analysis, which analyses the current dilemmas in the health care department. These dilemmas could include the characteristics of the population and providing facilities provided by health and non-health sectors. Budgeting is also an operation that needs to be analysed when planning a process. Programming budgeting analyses locations for future resources as well as the additional costs of future investments.

Health Care Statistics

It is estimated that in 2019, more than 141 million children will be born, with 73 million of them being boys and 68 million being girls. The difference in life expectancy between boys and girls is 4.4 years. The life expectancy at birth is 5.5 years. This means that there is more chance of health care being needed as the extra years are not always healthy for elderly people. If you look at low-income countries and compare them to high-income countries, life expectancy in low-income countries is estimated at 62.7 years, with an 18.1 increase in life expectancy in high-income countries. This further emphasizes the point that the resources at your disposal are so important when it comes to health care.
